What Makes a Wedding Ceremony Special?
It's the moment when everyone stops scrolling on their phones and actually listens. When your guests laugh at the story of how you met, smile at the inside joke only you two understand, and maybe even tear up a bit when you say your vows.
It's not about being the most Instagram-worthy ceremony or following the latest trends. It's about creating a moment that feels authentically you - whether that's traditional and elegant, relaxed and intimate, or a beautiful blend of both.
How We'll Create Your Ceremony Together
-
Initial Consultation
We'll meet via Zoom so you can get to know me and decide if I'm the right celebrant for you. There's no pressure - this is just a chat to see if we click.
-
Getting to Know You
Once you book, I'll send questionnaires to each of you. These aren't boring forms - they're conversation starters that help me understand your story. How did you meet? What do you love about each other? What moments have shaped your relationship?
-
Planning Meeting
We'll have a proper planning session (in person or via Zoom) to discuss what you want in your ceremony. Readings, music, symbolic rituals, the structure, the tone - everything. This is where we start building your bespoke ceremony.
-
Crafting Your Ceremony
I'll create a personalised ceremony script that tells your love story. You'll have the chance to review it, and we'll keep refining it until it feels perfect. If you want to write your own vows, I'll support you through that process too.
-
Leading Up to the Day
I'll keep in regular contact via email, phone, or face-to-face meetings. I'll liaise with your venue and other suppliers to make sure everything runs smoothly. If you'd like a rehearsal, we can arrange that too.
-
Your Wedding Day
I'll arrive with plenty of time, help keep everyone calm, and then lead a ceremony that's warm, engaging, and memorable. Your exclusive booking means you have my full attention for the day.
-
A Keepsake to Treasure
After your wedding, you'll receive a keepsake ceremony script and a ceremony certificate - something to look back on and remember the moment you said "I do."

The Type of Weddings I Love
I'm not the celebrant for boho festival weddings or super quirky themed ceremonies. But if you're looking for something that feels:
-
Traditional with a Personal Twist
Walking down the aisle, exchanging rings and vows, perhaps a hand fasting or unity candle, readings that mean something, a ceremony that honours tradition whilst celebrating what makes you unique.
-
Elegant and Meaningful
Whether you're getting married in a beautiful barn, a hotel, a garden, or under a marquee - you want something that feels polished, warm, and genuinely reflects your relationship.
-
Intimate and Heartfelt
Perfect for second marriages, couples in their "middle years," or anyone who wants the focus on the words and the moment rather than elaborate theatrics.
Why Couples Choose Me
-
I'm a Story-Teller
Your ceremony won't be a list of facts. It'll be a story - the story of how you found each other and what brought you to this moment.
-
I Bring Warmth and Calm
Weddings can be stressful. I'll be someone you can trust to keep things running smoothly whilst bringing gentle warmth and humour to the day.
-
I Understand What Matters
After 40 years in a caring profession, I know how to listen to what people really need. I'll pick up on the little things that matter to you and weave them into your ceremony.
-
Experience Is an Asset
Some couples worry a mature celebrant won't understand them, but life experience brings wisdom, perspective, and the ability to connect with people of all ages. Plus, I’m young at heart - I drove solo across Europe before I changed my career and became a celebrant!
Important Note: Legal Marriages
In England and Wales, I cannot legally marry you - that part needs to happen at a registry office. But here's the thing: most couples do a quick signing at the registry office a few days before, then have their real ceremony with me on their wedding day.
The legal bit takes 10 minutes. The ceremony with me is where the magic happens - the vows, the story, the moment everyone remembers.
Covering Lancashire and Beyond
Based in Chorley with easy motorway access, I can travel throughout Lancashire, Manchester, Merseyside, Yorkshire, and Cumbria. The North West has some stunning venues - from rustic barns to elegant hotels, beautiful gardens to historic manor houses.
